Welcome . . . grapeEXPECTATIONS became a vision of Terri’s while on a trip to Cape Cod.  That was in 2007.  With the support of her family and friends on Nov. 20th 2009 grapeEXPECTATIONS opened the door.  What happened between 2007 and 2009 became a struggle with the growing concerns created by banks saying NO.  While waiting for permits to be approved the build-out was well on its way.  The vision of a wine store started to come together with Tuscany colors and wine racks that display the art of labels. 

We had to look at our business plan and not allow others to take away our dream.
With the support of local distributors our dream came true when we were able to fill our store with a great selection of wines and beers.

Our ability to provide a comfortable setting and room to explore the wine, beer and spirits has prompted customers to sit down and chat.  Many are excited to share their wine expertise and experience with us.
The question asked the most often is "Why a wine shop?"  I suppose looking back I have always enjoyed a good glass of wine or beer with friends.  Now I have a chance to learn about wine and meet new people.  Is it the American dream to own a business?  I would have to say YES. 
 
I was born in Anchorage and have spent the last 27 years in customer service.  I love Alaska.  I enjoy the outdoors and all the beauty Alaska has to offer.  I have always been involved in the community. Raising four children has given me the tools to multitask.  Learning and experiencing new ideas and people has always been fun and easy.  I believe if everyone gave 1% of their time and energy to the community we would have a much better place to live.
